Google's Nexus 7 is still in for some competition as it tops the list of the best mini tablets, or tablets below 10 inches, that has a price lower than $300. The tablet was released just a year ago.

Nexus 7 is manufactured by Asus, the world's leading computer hardware manufacturer, and is powered by Android. Android is currently being developed under the wing of Google, so we can be sure that the Nexus 7 will be viable for the latest Android versions such as the Kitkat.
The tablet is known for its amazing speed, outstanding display, and long battery life. It also runs on a 1.5Ghz Quadcore Processor, while the 7-inch screen offers a resolution of 1200x1920 pixels. It has a 3950mAh battery that can last as long as nine hours of continual use.
Nexus 7 is really an epitome of impressive power and deluxe display. You can run an app that uses every pixel and eats every bit of processing speed to the fullest. It is also best for games such as Real Racer 3.
There are two possible problems, however, that may arise for users who prefer to use tablets as their mobile phone.
First is the lack of memory. Sure, a 32GB memory looks good on paper, but the Nexus 7's 32GB internal memory is lessened by 8GB for the Operating Systems of the tablet. This large chunk of unusable memory gives a lot of misery to the 16GB version of the Nexus 7 tablet. Google also doesn't really allow for the expansion of memory by using a memory card due to their Cloud Service. The problem is even if you do have a lot of memory to spare in the Cloud, once you're out of internet reach, you really can't gain access to your Cloud storage.
Second is the fact that Nexus 7 is internet dependent. There are no sim card slots that can be found in the tablet, and the Nexus 7 can't really be used as a mobile phone.

So if you're planning on using a tablet as a mobile phone, you might have to think twice before getting a Nexus 7. But, if you are a tablet user that is into games, watching movies, and doing other online stuff, then the Nexus 7 is the right fit for you.
You can get the Nexus 7 for only $230-$240 on Amazon. Not a bad deal if you want a high-quality, low-priced tablet.
