Error 56: Apple's iOS 9.3.2 update is borking iPad Pro tablets

YOU MAY WANT TO HOLD OFF on installing Apple's newly released iOS 9.3.2 update if you use a 9.7in iPad Pro, as some have reported that the software has turned their tablet into an expensive brick.

Apple released iOS 9.3.2 on Monday, an update that aimed to fix iPhone SE Bluetooth problems and a fault that prevented MDM servers installing Custom B2B apps.

However, the rollout hasn't gone exactly to plan for the firm, MacRumours reports, and owners of the 9.7in iPad Pro have complained that the update has fully borked their Apple tablet.

Users have taken to social media and various Apple discussion forums to vent their frustration, saying that they received 'Error 56' messages just minutes after installing iOS 9.3.2.

This Error 56 message, which is reminiscent of the Error 53 bug that plagued iPhone users earlier this year, tells users to plug their tablet into a Mac or PC to update via iTunes. However, iPad Pro owners say that this method doesn't work either, leaving their tablets unable even to be switched on.

Error 56 is a hardware problem, according to Apple's error code support document, which recommends installing the latest version of iTunes, checking for problems with third-party security software and attempting a restore twice.

The firm said that customers who are still seeing the error message should contact Apple support. µ
