DENVER — Some Colorado voters who believed they'd registered for this month's caucuses via smartphone may not have done so because of technical issues.

The secretary of state's office said Friday it was investigating why some Coloradans who used certain smartphones to update their voter information couldn't complete the transactions.

Affected users couldn't scroll to a "submit" button to finish the job.

It isn't known how many registrations are involved. It also isn't known how the glitch may have affected precincts caucusing on March 1.

CAUCUSES: Colorado should move to presidential primary, parties agree

Secretary of State Wayne Williams says his office will contact affected voters once it identifies them.

Voters affected by the glitch could participate by signing statements saying they'd registered to vote or had changed their party affiliation for either the Democratic and Republican caucuses.

Only registered party members can caucus.

Colorado became the first state to allow registration via smartphone or tablet in 2012. It began online voter registration in 2010.
